The Philippines, Floods and Corruption

For the past few months, the Philippines government has faced a series of scandals where flood control projects were found to be defective and overpriced to pay for kickbacks to corrupt government officials and legislators. Infrastructure was not built to specifications and substandard construction materials were used.

This has led to needless deaths during the Philippines typhoon seasons due to flooding.
