Bio

Gary Waters Short Bio

I was born in the rough, tough South Wales coal mining town of Merthyr Tydfil. At the age of 18 I left to study art. First sculpture in Birmingham and then photography at he Royal College of Art London.
After leaving I lived and worked as an artist and taught in many Colleges of art in the U.K. and even for a short while in the U.S.A.
I’ve held solo exhibitions in London, Nice, Toulouse, Venice, Zagreb and lots of other cities throughout Europe.

All that seems a long time ago.
Since 1992 I’ve lived and worked from a small unknown village in south west France. I draw illustrations and cartoons for a whole range of clients. My work has been published by The Guardian, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera, Time magazine, M.T.V. So many different people. Even Vogue has used my work. If only they could see how I dress.
