Alaa A. M. Lagta is a distinguished caricature artist and plastic surgeon from Gaza - Palestine, based in Istanbul. With over 25 years of experience, he has contributed more than 10,000 works to outlets such as Arabi21, Felesteen, Al Jazeera Net, and Al-Araby Al-Jadeed. He specializes in silent caricature -simple, expressive, and powerful- and frequently portrays political, cultural, and social themes.

He earned second place in the 2013 Arab Cartoon Award and has been honored by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and the Palestinian Government Media Office. In addition to caricature, he illustrates children’s stories, designs book covers and logos and maintains a social media following of nearly 300,000. He continues to create work for regional and international audiences.
