Javad Takjoo : Cartoonist & designer
He was born in Mashhad in 1985. Currently, he lives in Lahijan, a beautifulcity in north of Iran. He has pursuedhis career as a professional cartoonist and painter since 2001. In the meanwhile, he started tolearn designing and painting academically.
He began to work as a press cartoonist with the weekly magazine, Lahijan. He has been working with several popularnational newspapers such as Etemad, Jam- jam, Nishkhat, etc.since 14 years ago.
Javad started learning Pottery and ceramics academically at Mazandaran University in 2012 and graduated in traditional Iranian glazing. He aimed at studying Iranian classic art and combining it with contemporary approaches to art i.e. Hermeneutics to create a new experience.
Takjoo was a founding member of Guilan’s cartoon association and a member of itsstaff board since 2010. Healso was the artistic secretary of Afdesta international cartoon contest twice and a jury member of Kosovo international cartoon contest and participated in variouscartoon contests. He won numerous rewards in Germany, Serbia,South Korea, India, Colombia, Turkey, etc.
In 2009, Takjoo was entitled as one of the Top 10 Cartoonists from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
