‘Chicane’ is the pen name of Mark Winter, a New Zealander who has been a disciple of the
cartoon arts, both static and animated for nearly five decades. His award-winning work is
published, exhibited and screened globally. He has twice been the recipient of the Sir
Gordon Minhinnick Memorial Trophy for ‘Cartoonist of the Year’ in New Zealand’s annual
Media Awards.


Mark lives and cartoons in London, where his ‘Chicanery’ appears in a variety of
publications, including ‘Private Eye’, ‘New Statesman’, ‘The Oldie’ and ‘Morning Star’.
