Shaunak Samvatsar has been drawing cartoons and comics in between lunch breaks and film making for about 10 years now. His work encompasses political & pocket cartoons, gag comics, graphic novels and animation design. His comics have won awards in various national competitions. He self publishes under “Breadcrumbs Toons” since 2012. His gag comic “Phuskuman” had a successful run in Tinkle comics and has been successfully converted into animation IP. His graphic novel was published in the anthology “VÉRITÉ 01” in 2018. He has illustrated books for Karadi and Kidz Belong, USA. He held his solo cartoon exhibition at the prestigious Indian Cartoon Gallery in Feb 2020.
His filmography includes – Tripura “The Three Cities of Maya” & Animated Series “Pakdam Pakdai” and “Sheikh Chilli and Friendz“. A mechanical engineer with a masters in Animation Design from the IDC, IITB… he is available for collaboration of narratives and films.
