Kíke

Born Puerto Rican in New York City in 1958. From an early age, he knew he wanted to be a graphic artist and cartoonist.

He grew up in Puerto Rico (perhaps too much—he now weighs 240 pounds). He studied at the Luchetti High School of Arts in Santurce, later at the School of Fine Arts of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, and eventually at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. He didn’t graduate from any of them.

His work has been exhibited in various corners of Planet Earth.

He currently works from his studio on a mountain in the Puerto Rican countryside. He publishes in Claridad, Puerto Rico’s weekly newspaper, and produces daily graphic commentary on social media. When money is scarce, he works in graphic design.
