While the U.S. Economy Burns
Nearly 2000 years ago, Nero fiddled while Rome burned, and we’re still talking about it today. Now the American economy is in free fall, and Trump’s comments about whether he thinks about Americans struggling economically while trying to end the war in Iran, which is causing so much economic pain, ring as hollow and out of touch as Nero playing the fiddle while his capital burned. Trump literally said he doesn’t think about us at all, not even a little bit.
This war was completely unnecessary, and his Secretary of State, Lil Marco, said the goal of the war in Iran is now to return things to the way they were before his boss illegally started the war. Sometimes I like to play a game where I ask how MAGA would respond if the exact same quote came from Barack Hussein Obama instead of the big orange man. The answer is never the same.
