Tribute to Mahsa Amini

A simple act, such as letting your hair free, is no longer a condemnation to imprisonment, torture, and death, as happened to the young Kurdish-Iranian woman Mahsa Amini on September 16, 2022, who was detained and then beaten to death by men while in the custody of the state of Iran. Her death sparked a wave of protests led by women – free hair in the wind – and followed by men who allied themselves against the patriarchal cruelty that condemns women to horror. Many died in the protests, and the international community mobilized. Among the activists is Marjane Satrapi, who organized the graphic novel WOMAN LIFE FREEDOM, published in several countries, with a collection of real stories about the oppression of women in Iran, a graphic novel made by several Iranian and French authors.
