Media Trial

This cartoon was drawn in response to a disturbing reality in Bangladesh, where sexual violence against women and children is often followed by a second wave of victimization.

Instead of focusing on the perpetrators, many media outlets and social media–based pseudo-journalists turn survivors into clickbait content. In many cases, the victim’s identity, trauma, and personal life receive more public attention than the criminal himself.

This cartoon addresses that culture of exploitation, where tragedy becomes media spectacle and human suffering is consumed for engagement.
