Israelis, Palestinians and a Cycle of Violence

I think we need to figure out how to break the vicious cycle where Israel oppresses the Palestinians, then Palestinians commit acts of terrorism against Israelis to fight back against the oppression. The terrorism moves Israelis further Right and they worsen their oppression of Palestinians, and it continues in an unending cycle of oppression and violence.

I don't know the answer to the conflict. But I think breaking the cycle should be the focus, not taking one side or another.

I don't anything really to add to what all of you wrote, especially Granuaile.

I personally just want a ceasefire and a return of the remaining Israeli hostages. There's also the moral imperative to try to stop a famine in Gaza.

Exactly, the current situation will not solve Israel's problem, it only makes the situation worse. As I type this, I have a star of David necklace and a keffiyeh around my neck. I refuse to support Hamas and I also refuse to support Netanyahu's policies which are essentially ethnic cleansing. Ben-Gvir is said to have asked earlier this week why the IDF was taking prisoners, suggesting "can't you shoot some?" Too many try to make this a black and white issue with one side in the right and one side wrong, it's not so simple. There are plenty of people who take a rationale perspective but they are hard to hear amidst the deafening roar of two polarized extremes.
