A Cartoon on Solar Farms, Extractive Mining & Large Dams Displacing Indigenous Philippine Communities

In the Philippines, large scale dams, geothermal plants, solar farms, windmills and extractive mining are being put in indigenous lands, which often leads to environmental destruction, including soil erosion, and land degradation, as well as the driving out indigenous people from their land.

Often times, these large scale destructive projects proceed without the permission of the indigenous people who legally own the land.

For those indigenous people who are able to stay in their land, they often don’t have access to electricity even though these power sources are in their land.
