I am a New York City–based illustrator, animator, and political cartoonist working at the intersection of Turkish and American cultural and political life. I began publishing editorial cartoons at the age of fifteen for Turkish newspapers and currently serve as the resident political cartoonist for Gazete Oksijen, one of Turkey’s leading contemporary publications with a strong international focus.
My work examines politics, power, and social change through visual satire, symbolism, and narrative-driven imagery, often informed by a cross-cultural perspective shaped by life between two societies. Alongside editorial cartooning, I am also a published children’s book illustrator, with titles released in Turkey, the United States, and across Europe.
In parallel with my artistic practice, my family and I have operated DROM NYC for over two decades—an East Village venue dedicated to global and multicultural music—which has been a formative influence on my sense of rhythm, storytelling, and cultural exchange.
I trained at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, studied Illustration at Pratt Institute, and later pursued Animation at the Maryland Institute College of Art. I am based in New York City.
