Hule Hanušić

In the world of cartoons, he is better known as Hule. He was born in 1953 in Bijeljina. He came to
Brčko in 1972, where he started working as an educator in Bosanska Bijela near Brčko. From 1987, he
was permanently employed at the Radio News Institute in Brčko as an illustrator, caricaturist and
technical editor in the Brcno newspaper "Graditelj" until 1992.

He was a permanent contributor to the newspaper Oslobođenje from Sarajevo, where he worked until the
outbreak of war in 1992. He published his works in almost all newspapers and magazines of the former
Yugoslavia, and mostly in Graditelje, Jež and Oslobođenje. So far, he has had eleven solo cartoon
exhibitions and many joint exhibitions at cartoon festivals and salons around the world, for which he has
received more than 50 awards and recognitions. He has been a member of the Association of Journalists
of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1991 and the Croatian Association of Cartoonists from Zagreb, with
whom he regularly performs at almost all events.

He has been living and working in Austria for the last thirty years, where he was permanently
employed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna until 2012, when he retired. For a time he collaborated
with the respected Austrian daily "Die Presse" and the satirical magazine "Rappelkopf". He published his
works in many international magazines for humor and satire, such as: Rappelkopf - Austria, Akrep -
Cyprus, Don Quichotte - Germany, Dobri Humor - Poland, Magpie and Richet from Croatia, and in many
other magazines.

He actively cooperates with numerous web portals that present cartoons. From the first issue, he
was a permanent contributor to one of the most famous E-magazines for cartoons, Fenamizah, which
was published for five years in Turkey until 2017. He was constantly present with his works in electronic
magazines such as Etna from Belgrade and in the prestigious International Cartoon Magazine "CM"
edited by the team from the Union of Word Cartoonists from Turkey. He is a contributor to the Italian
Boudoir cartoon almanac. He collaborates on the portal for cartoons and comics from Croatia KIST, and
in the magazine for satire and humor Satiraskop from Serbia, the satirical magazine Balkanium from
Macedonia and other papers from abroad...
