Trump bans or restricts entry to the U.S. for citizens of 19 countries
President Donald Trump signed a proclamation Wednesday prohibiting or restricting entry to the United States by citizens of about twenty countries for security reasons.
The declaration completely restricts entry to citizens of 12 countries: Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
It also partially restricts entry to individuals from seven countries: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.
Exceptions will be allowed for legal permanent residents, current visa holders, and certain other categories, officials said.
