Squeezing Sudanese, Palestinians and Ukrainians

People continue to be killed in conflicts in Sudan, Gaza and Ukraine.

According to a March 21, 2025 BBC article by Beverly Ochieng, Wedaeli Chibelushi and Natasha Booty (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-59035053), a war om Sudan between the army and a powerful paramilitary group has claimed more than 150,000 lives. About 12 million people have been forced to flee their homes.

There is evidence of ethnic cleansing and genocide in the western region of Darfur against darker-skinned Massalit and non-Arab communities. Systemic rape is being used as a weapon of war against these communities.

According to a March 23, 2025 NPR article by Hadeel Al-Shalchi, Anas Baba and Daniel Estrin (https://www.npr.org/2025/03/23/nx-s1-5337938/palestinian-deaths-gaza-is…), the number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of Israel's war with Hamas has surpassed 50,000, according to health officials in Gaza.

According to a January 25,2025 AP article by Edith M. Lederer (https://apnews.com/article/un-gaza-war-children-killed-malnutrition-isr…), over 13,000 Palestinian children have been killed in the war between Israel and Hamas.

Starvation is being used as a weapon of war against the Palestinian population to force them out of their homes and into designated militarized zones.

According to a February 24, 2025 article by The United Nations (https://press.un.org/en/2025/sc16006.doc.htm), since February 2022, 12,654 Ukrainian civilians — including 673 children — have been killed and 29,392 — including 1,865 children — have been injured. Over 10 million Ukrainians remain uprooted — 3.6 million displaced within Ukraine and 6.9 million seeking refuge abroad.

Several reports indicate that the Russian Federation have inflicted torture and sexual violence against Ukrainian prisoners of war.
