During recent state-organized rallies marking the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution (February 11, 2026), pro-regime participants in Tehran and other cities burned large, bull-headed effigies labeled "Baal".
Just as the ancient Baal was associated with child sacrifice, the current leadership is labeled a "Child-killing regime" (Hokumat-e bache-kosh). Since the 2022 protests, the blood of minors has become the primary indictment against his rule. Who is the real Baal?
