Public broadcasting independence
The Lithuanian government is pushing forward a draft law that would make it easier for the council of Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) to dismiss the broadcaster's director general and halt increases in its funding. International and local media organizations express concern that this will undermine the availability of independent and diverse media.
