“Mr. Trump said Sunday that he had a “good and very productive” call with Russian President Vladimir Putin before the meeting with Zelenskyy. Mr. Trump said his message to Putin is that they have “got to make a deal” and Mr. Trump said he believed “we have the makings of a deal.” A draft 20-point plan, agreed upon by U.S. and Ukrainian negotiators, is under review by the Kremlin, although Moscow has shown no signs of budging on its territorial demands. Zelenskyy said Sunday he and Mr. Trump are 90% agreed on the plan, both calling territorial issues like the Donbas a “very tough question.”
