Republican Senator Joni Ernst
Speaking in the halls of Congress regarding the ambiguity of the terms, she said:
"I am glad he wants to find a path to peace... but I don't want us to end up in the exact same position as the 2015 Obama deal. I don't want to go back there again."
Editorial of the Conservative Magazine (National Review)
The magazine, close to the American right, described what is happening as a "humiliation." In its editorial, it stated:
"There is a real possibility that Trump is returning the United States to Obama’s failed Iran deal, an agreement Trump rightly tore up in his first term. This carries all the hallmarks of humiliation after everything that has happened."
