The Genie you can't put back in the bottle?

In 2025, the International Court of Justice issued a historic advisory opinion clarifying states’
legal obligations to protect people and future generations from climate harm by phasing out
fossil fuels, rapidly reduce emissions, provide remedy to those facing climate damages and
provide climate finance to developing countries.

Now, the Vanuatu government has drafted a UN resolution calling for the endorsement of the
United Nations General Assembly which is a HUGE step towards global climate accountability.
However, some high emitting countries are trying to weaken or block a strong outcome
because of the legal and financial implications to historic and ongoing polluters.
