freedom project
Iran or the United States?
Trump wanted to launch his “freedom project” through the United Arab Emirates and the southern Strait of Hormuz.
The northern part of the strait remains the corridor controlled by Iran.
The central route, used before the war, is now reportedly mined.
By redefining maritime control zones, Iran has imposed a virtual naval blockade on the Emirates: even oil transit east of Hormuz now depends on authorization from the Revolutionary Guard.
After the attacks on the port of Fujairah and several Emirati oil tankers, Trump’s announced project appears to have failed.
Meanwhile, US strategic reserves are being rapidly depleted to contain oil prices—already 30 million barrels consumed.
Is the world entering a new energy crisis?
Who will be the winners and losers in this geopolitical poker game?
According to Goldman Sachs estimates, at the current rate, the price of oil could reach $140 next month.
