The Beacon in the Storm

A Beacon in the Storm condemns the Trump regime’s escalating, vicious imperialism in the Caribbean and the abhorrently arrogant and dangerous Donroe Doctrine. In the cartoon, the island of Cuba is portrayed with with a gigantic lighthouse beaming a message of light, hope and peace out to the world. From the northern horizon, Marco Rubio and President Trump gawk and salivate as they desire to seize the island. Cuba has endured a fierce, unjust, economic blockade for over 60 years and is now facing an unprecedented aggression as the United States has cut off all oil exports since kidnapping Venezuela's President Maduro and is threatening devastating sanctions to any country in the world that sells oil to Cuba. It's a struggle to keep the lights on across the island, but the symbolic lighthouse radiates hope to the world and symbolizes the strength, resilience and resolve of the Cuban people in the face of a cruel, imperial economic siege.
