PitchDemocrawhat?!

It´s an international question: once politicians get our votes, they forget the voters and get distance from reality. At least we can now add to our cartoons thousands of people shouting against the situation.

PitchUganda's Anti-Gay Bill

In Uganda, Christian ministers like Pastor Martin Ssempa have been lobbying for an anti-gay bill to pass their legislature. Originally the bill imposed the death penalty for people who have engaged in homosexual acts, but after international pressure, the death penalty was dropped and life imprisonment was substituted.

PitchHERO TO ZERO

It was with a sigh of relief that the tragic episode of ivorian elections came to an end with Gbagbos arrest...good riddance! There was a civil war during the post election period, both sides committed atrocities, will the whole world now ignore the fact that both Gbagbo and Ouattara employed the use of militia and gross violation of human rights was the order of the day..both sides committed crimes! So Ouattara too should be held to account for his military's actions

PitchOne million signatures sought to free Ai Weiwei

Ai Weiwei is the most famous artist in China and has always pushed the envelope, both with his internationally-acclaimed art and with his outspoken criticism of the Chinese government. Now, the Chinese government is holding him on flimsy charges of "economic crimes" -- an allegation often used to silence dissenters.

Y'know, I really am jealous of the Greeks – not because of the shape their economy's in, nor because of their government's servility to capital, nor because of the state-imposed "austerity" programs they struggle against. I'm jealous of the Greeks because they haven't forgotten how to fight in the streets. Meanwhile, in the USA, "progressives" are "fighting" the imminent loss of hard-won social safety nets by waving signs, having teach-ins, and voting Democratic. C'mon, America – off your ass and into the streets. It's time to get your Greek on!
