Army of God (Part 1)

This is the first installment of Army of God, a non-fiction graphic novel about the Lord's Resistance Army that has terrorized the Congo. Based on reporting by David Axe from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2010, the comic explores the history of the LRA with eyewitness accounts from captives and those working to stop the destructive militia. Each chapter will focus on a different character and their role in the saga, from diplomats to LRA soldiers to the women and children they capture. The first installment recounts the Congo's long history of colonialism, corruption, and strife that have set the stage for the conflict of today. The artwork is by Tim Hamilton.

Good Luck with this David and Tim. I will be promoting this and following each installment. I have been looking forward to it since reading about it on War is Boring.

Excellent work. But there seems to be a page missing between 3 and 4 - the sudden jump from 2000 BC to the Portuguese.

Your work is so strong and powerful! Thank you for producing it. I look forward to teaching it soon. Both the visual and verbal art are stunning (ex: "laid down rich layers of rare minerals").
(as a small side note, on the bottom of page two, is "rare mminerals" a typo?)

I lived in Rwanda in from 1996 to 1997 (and 1999 and 2004 for short period) and I have seen refugees, violences and tears. I think it is never enough to tell and to know the history of suffering of these people and the efforts they are doing to redeem and hope. Thanks
