LSE Project: Gender

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is undertaking a six-year research project on governance, security and justice in conflict-affected areas. The Cartoon Movement will support the academic research with editorial cartoons, using our global network of cartoonists to come up with powerful visuals on six themes, one of which is gender:

This theme explores the role of gender in various countries around the world. Important issues are (sexual) violence agianst women, the security for women and the position of women in fragile states. The World Summit 2005 stated gender equality is essential for the development of peace and security.
