News caught up with this cartoon, which was based on a Turkish cartoonist facing 9 years in prison for doing a cartoon of Erdogan. He was acquitted earlier today. Still, I think the cartoon is relevant for the current state of Turkey. Also, it's nearly Halloween. And perhaps most important, it was a fun cartoon to draw :)
The Turkish cartoonist Musa Kart was today acquitted of the charge of insulting the president Erdogan. However, the decision was appealed by a lawyer representing Erdogan, who ask for Kart a prison sentence of 10 months. This is a ridicolous claim. Evidently, Erdogan would like to see the Turkish justice as a hologram at his command.

Cartoonists all over the world have responded to the news that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called upon state prosecutors to put cartoonist Musa Kart on trial over a drawing published in February 2014. Kart faced over nine years in jail if convicted but happily the case was dismissed almost immediately after it opened on the 23rd of October 2014.
Swedish naval vessels are continuing to scour a stretch of water near the capital Stockholm, amid suspicions that a Russian submarine may be lurking there. The Swedish military says it could use force against a foreign military vessel if one is found. Russia denies involvement.
