The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is undertaking a six-year research project on governance, security and justice in conflict-affected areas. The Cartoon Movement will support the academic research with editorial cartoons, using our global network of cartoonists to come up with powerful visuals on six themes, one of which is resources and informal arrangements:
Resources can be a source of prosperity and stability, but resources can also be the cause of conflicts and criminality. In many, mainly developing, countries, the management of resources is problematic. This subject explores the different groups fighting for access to and control of resources, the role of states and (multinational) corporations and the influence of/consequenses for the environment.
