During repeated nationwide internet restrictions and blackouts in Iran, access to the global internet has increasingly become a privilege connected to political loyalty, institutional affiliation, or proximity to the regime. While ordinary citizens experience censorship, blocked platforms, unstable connections, and long communication blackouts during protests or crises, certain groups connected to state institutions reportedly maintain access through special networks, unrestricted SIM cards, or protected internet services.
