Persistence and Resistance: Women of Saudi Arabia
Winner of Cartoon Movement's inaugural "Art of Resistance'" international cartoon competition in 2018.
At the time this cartoon celebrated aspects of freedom that Saudi women were enjoying for the first time ever.
This cartoon has proved controversial in that many are declaring that Saudi Arabia continues to oppress its women and that the fledgling women's rights movement in that country has all but disappeared under constant death threats and false imprisonment.
