Donald Trump & The Mad Man Theory
I got the idea for this cartoon when I watched a video by New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie titled "Can you call it 'Mad man theory' when the president is just a mad man?"

The Mad Man Theory was formulated by Richard Nixon to make an adversary country think that he was so crazy that the country would avoid provoking the U.S. because of fear of Nixon's irrational response.
I've had a similar thought since 2016. And I worry that Trump is going to take my country and the whole world in a very dark direction.
I personally think that in order to end Trumpism in the U.S., we need to confront Christian nationalism. Trump's political power is based on the overwhelming support of White Evangelicals.
Black Evangelicals share much of the same conservative Christian theology as their White Evangelical counterparts. But Black Evangelicals overwhelming voted for Kamala Harris during the 2024 elections (https://christianchronicle.org/in-presidential-election-many-christian-…).
After World War II, Catholic and Protestant reformers had to reflect on why so many Christians in the heart of Europe fell under the spell of fascism and anti-Jewish hatred. For the Catholic Church, these reflections planted the seeds for the Vatican II reforms of the 1960s. For Protestant churches, this led to the deletion of antisemitic church teachings.
After Trumpism ends, I think that conservative Evangelicals will have to face a similar soul-searching on why so many Evangelicals fell for the cult of personality of Donald Trump.

Good one.
Excellent cartoon. Only thing is we are already in a very dark place, going around in circles.
