Matchhead
The ongoing popular uprisings sweeping across the Arab world are fabulous and inspiring examples of the demand for human rights.
Yet they also have the potential to result in even more opressive states, if the wrong people come to power.
The metaphor of self-destruction is therefore present in my piece.

Im sorry for the late reaction, I think when a person is exhausted he/she looks weak and tired. With bags under their eyes (is that how you call them in english?) So maybe in the cartoon, the world could look like person who is exhausted, so with a tired face. Or it could look as weak as a wet dirty towel, unable to get up, sort of smeared all over the floor. What do you think?
08 Mar 2011Great, Bonnie. Now, how can we say that in a cartoon? What will the earth look like, exhausted? What does a person look like exhausted? What visual thing says, "exhausted, used up, depleted?"

21 Feb 2011Hi shan, yes i mean exhaustion of recources, that we use way too much way too fast, like oil and water, about how the future is going to look if we continue to consume as much as we are now.
20 Feb 2011I like this one so much!
18 Feb 2011Tell me what you imagine the cartoon should look like. It is to be about the exhaustion of earth by humans- do you mean the exhaustion of resources, or by pollution? Once we know that, we can start thinking of some ideas on how to illustrate it! It will be fun!
