Haiti, One Year Later...

It has been a year since a devastating earthquake ended normal life for almost everybody in Haiti. And although over 1,3 billion dollar has already been donated to rebuild Haitian society, the overwhelming majority of the people still have to live in tents with little food, poor hygiene and even worse medical care. This is actually a sequel cartoon to one I did January 2010, which you can see here.

The updated version, based on all your comments!

I also thought the amount of zeros would help drive the point home. But I'll upload a revised version today, and you guys can be the judge...

@Svitalsky $1.3 billion is indeed easier to read than counting all the zeros. On the other hand zeros look more impressive.

And what about the number 1,3 with dollar sign write on the first line and instead of zeros write "billion" under it on the bottom line.

I agree with Steve. Ideally the number should be in one line. This way it looks like two separate measurement figures.
You could also circumvent the number problem (which I assume changes even as we speak) and just write "financial/u.s./foreign/whatever aid" and the point would remain the same.
Great colour & line job.

I actually kinda liked the spacing of the numbers. It's easlily changed, though (as it's a separate layer in PS), if more people feel there's room for improvement.

That's very good and effective, but I don't quite like the way the number on the bag of blood is broken and oddly spaced.

Fantastic! Maybe you can also add some figures sucking from the blood pond on the left :)
